Week 4

Macro images:
The rim of the pot is approximately on the rule of thirds. The rim also leads into the background.
Leading lines is shown here as the planks get blurred in the background. The reflection in the glass also creates depth. The planks of wood and glass are also mostly monotonous except for the spec of dust in the middle of the photo.
A bit of symmetry is shown here, with enough differences to attract the viewer.  Leading lines of the bricks also fade into the background.

Week 3 Desktop publishing

Merging exercise
Merging using about 10 Vietnam holiday photos:

Week 3

Because I was alway last class and didn't have a photo of myself to edit, I did this instead:
Photo was taken in Vietnam about 9 months ago in some backstreet of Saigon.
composition: a little bit of symmetry, buildings on the right offsets it though.
Lack of background focuses the building.
probaly used automatic setting, without flash. I quite like this photo though can't explain why :/

Original image:

This is the original image, the changes I put on the previous image are; change in tint, added blur (Gaussian blur + texture of some kind), and increased sharpness in some parts of the image layered on top of the original...

I will edit this post later for pictures of self.

Week 1 Desktop publishing

The images below are from the anime 'Tiger & Bunny', in short it's similar to Disney's 'Incredibles' - multiple superheros work together to save the city. Each hero gets sponsored by one or several companies (similar to atheletes) and so wear their logos. Story wise, this is how each character earn their living, but in real life these companies actually sponsor the anime and get product placement throughout the entire anime. I thought this is interesting because without the extra funding, the show wouldn't be successful as it is today (in Japan) Below are images from the opening sequence of the show.
Sponsored by Softbank and SHF figwarts
Sponsored by Crusade and Bandai (not shown)
Pepsi
Ustream
Dmm and Calbee

Because the brand name is then associated with each character, all merchandise will contain the advertisment, giving even more exposure to the companies.
